When I were a lad and started going to pubs etc (late 60s early 70s)there was loads of reggae about..
My favourite 3

54-46 was my number.  Toots and Maytals 
Israelites.   Desmond Dekker
Double Barrel  Dave and Ansell Collins
I stand to be corrected but aren't they Ska tunes, rather than reggae?
I've seen Toots and The Maytals live. Brilliant.

Max Romeo, Wet Dream. 1968 , always associated this with the Smethwick Mob and the skinhead period.

More refined favourites include Young Gifted and Black and Hurt so Good.
