It’s obvious that the lads haven’t used the lockdown to improve on their fitness levels.
Since returning its apparent how unfit they are. I remember during lockdown Slav saying they’d all been sent personal training programmes but I bet no one checked in to see if they were following them.

This is one thing that is unforgivable. Fitness is one of the only things you have full control over and to lack stamina against the top teams in the country you’re gonna be on a hiding to nothing.

Just a couple of percent lower in your teams fitness level will drastically impede your ability to get results. Sam’s got a huge challenge to sort this mess out.
Hence he's calling for a covid break, the sly old dog.

Spot on, mate. For instance, it seems to have been just accepted over the last couple of seasons that Phillips and Livermore can't last 90 minutes without blowing out of their arses.  Why? They are extremely well paid athletes who can't use the age card to excuse themselves. Absolutely disgraceful.
Then we have the gum chewer, who can last a full match because he never gets out of second gear.
Goodness knows what Gallagher thinks as he runs around the pitch like a Duracell bunny. As you say, the one thing that good management should insist on is that we are at least as fit as our opponents. At the moment, we aren't.

Yes, but to coin your phrase ‘the gum chewer’ he is sweating buckets after ten minutes, no way is he anywhere near fit.

There's a 2 week window for a mini pre-season starting on Sunday.

U23s and outcasts to play in the Cup.

IF we're not fit enough that's purely down to management, Bilic & Co sadly.

Yesterday was down to three key factors;  fatigue from an unbelievable effort at Anfield, probably psychological as well as physical (do we have a psychologist at the club?)  not putting fresh legs in and Leeds being the fittest team in the Country.  We should have made 5/6 changes and got stuck in to the bastards instead of pussyfooting around.   Has some alien taken over Big Sam's body/brain as we played like a bunch of fairies on gobs of lard yesterday.

Now I'm no Pullis apologist and not try to defend him in any way shape or form, but the one thing you could never accuse a Pullis side of was not being fit enough, the same as SGM'S, sides always fit as fugg Lord nows what SGM makes of this shower.

They weren’t particularly fit under TP - they were organised, protected by numbers behind the ball and played a rigid structure.

That said - they weren’t as out of shape as this bunch
Connor Gallagher must win ever race or fitness challenge at the club

He’s by far the fittest and it shows. Others (not all) should be embarrassed that a loanee can come in and show them up.

IF that's the case then they've had 4 months to shape up.
