Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo wanted apparently.
Ighalo would be our best from United, much rather him than Tosun.

Aye, or Lingard

Both would be pay cheque hunting. Jones on pay as you play because of his injury record. Rojo is a nope from me. Ighalo a possible, lingard nope had several seasons at MU and only ever been a bit player.
What is Ighalo's (reported) salary at Man U?

Rojo has barely kicked a ball for years, and isn’t the big imposing CH or leader that were lacking. Whilst I don’t really rate Jones he is at least a warrior and would put a bit of steel in our back line.

Lingard is better than what we have, but hugely overrated and the fact he’s played so many games for United shows how weak they’ve been. Whilst he’d be seen as a coup, there are better uses for our budget and this we’d have the trappings of the kind of signings Pulis’s regime burdened us with.

Ighalo is on the best part of £300k/wk in China, and United are paying about half according to reports... not sure investing that kind of money in a loan deal for a 31yo striker who has scored 1 goal in his last 30 PL appearances (for United and Watford) is wise... we’ve already spent millions on a striker with a similar return this season.
First and foremost, I think he'll want players he knows and trusts who can hit the ground running. By the time we get his team on the pitch he'll have about 16/17 games left.

Van Aanholt,  Sakho and Tosun are therefore the three most likely with maybe Carroll plan B.

He'll also want a midfield general and probably a right back too.

Given were restricted to one domestic loan, we won’t get all 3 Athers... and even with their contracts expiring, I can’t see Sakho and co taking a 6 month deal.

Sam will want a CB, MC and Striker... Tosun on loan, potentially Sakho short term but would be bloody expensive.
As with a number of recent windows the players we can bring in will be determined by who we can move on.

Kipre, Edwards and Harper out on loan and I expect Sam wants CB, CM, CF and with Krov likely to leave and the hegazi wages then loans/frees will be those signings

If we can then move Gibbs on, I expect a left back is next and then Austin and Grosicki would be the next 2 in line which would then determine if we can get a RB and another CM in

The issue will be getting rid of the dead wood and then be clever with our signings. There are a lot of players who are in last 6 months of deals that we should be looking at IMO

Not sure on that dpb...

Sam will have wanted assurances. There's no guarantee you can move people on.  We didn't move anyone on to bring in Sturridge on 150k wk plus a big loan fee.

There are 12 out of contract in the summer so they may roll the dice...
