Had a solid game - kept good shape and got in some excellent tackles and not afraid to bust a gut to overlap and cross.

Very impressed and pleased for him.
Just said as much to my Dad on the phone, thought he had a cracking game
Rashford was having a field day against him according to the match thread...

Such a great time in fact that he swapped wings with about half an hour to go...
School Dinners had a nightmare against him.

Townsend shows what hard work and dedication can do. Really pleased he got a 3 year contract.

He will be important next season.
Had a good game today. I thought the Prem would be a step too far for him but he's stepped up just as he did in the Chump. Delighted I was proven wrong.
He will be a very important part of next season, I think the PL is a step too far over 38 games in a side where he needs to be a senior leader, but he could do a job in a better side and will be a valuable squad player should we get back up.
Bangers'n'Mashford really put in a shift and caused problems. But Townsend was mostly all over it. He did well today.

I keep seeing this ‘PL is a step too far’ comment and I could t agree less.

He kept one of the best forward wingers quiet all game today. So much so, he swapped wings to get more joy, as stated above.

He’s shown this season, with not much protection in front of him for the most part, and in a pretty poor defence overall...that he can play in this league.

One of the most bizarre comments I've seen on here, and that's saying something.

It was after about 8 minutes too........
