Deserves his own thread after yesterday. The club have done very well to tie him down to a new contract. Doesn't look out of place in the PL. Got so much stick for his first season and a half, has now silenced all the doubters.

That back heel to Pereira to set up Diagne was sublime.

Reminded me of Gibbs  Wink

Now an important player, loved the way he held Mount off yesterday for a goal kick.

We have a group of young players coming into their prime so regardless of what happens in the summer not all doom and gloom.
Yep. The "League 1 player" crowd have become the "he's improved massively" crowd. Nope, he's just always been good Wink. I read a match report yesterday which still said "squeezing every drop out of his ability" which I still thought was churlish. Why can't he just be good!

might be a few sniffing at the end of the season. We've got two fullbacks who are very good crossers

Absolutely right. He's always been a good player
Done well

Doesn't look out of place in the division.
He’s a premier league full back. Clearly not as talented offensively as some of the full backs for the top sides but defensively I think he’s been largely faultless all season.
He's a legend.

We could have the same thread about Furlong. A terrific crosser of the ball, and having some good performances defensively.

What Allardyce has done with Furlong is nothing short of a miracle. Unbelievable improvement defensively.

Townsend has pretty much stayed at the same high level since he arrived.

Townsend is 28, so hardly a youngster... he is without doubt now capable of playing at this level.

There are players in the lower leagues with the right combination of desire and talent to play at the top, we just need to find them... Tom James I think it was who turned us down to stay at Yeovil needs to be thanked as without him we wouldn’t have CT.
