What the muppets were thinking of when the sacked BD and had no replacement lined up is anybodys guess . Jenkins probably had a bollocking and threw his dummy out and BD got the backlash .

My personal view is that we are, at the very worst, no less likely to succeed in our promotion bid after sacking Big Dave. I think a good result tonight is more likely not less, with or without a new coach. The three match sequence of Sheff U, Leeds and Ipswich showed that Moore and Jones' race was run.

Sometimes it's necessary to stop something bad happening, even if you don't know what you're going to do next.
I don't see the rush. We ain't dropping out the play offs, and we ain't making top 2. Shan can do these two games, then we got the international break to sort it.

If we'd have got someone behind Moore's back, some people on here would have needed counselling at how badly he was treated.
I noticed a report today (although it was in The Sun) say Shan had two games to impress and if so will be considered for the rest of the season.

I have a suspicion that all was not right between Jones and the squad about approach. BD failed to nip it in the bud and the disenchantment grew. In light of the growing frustrations BD was given the chance by Jenkins to get rid of Jones but chose not to and backed his number two. The last 3 results went tits and BD had few allies left so they both had to go.

Just a theory but from what I heard today from a fairly good sauce it would appear to have been along those lines.
I’m not sure where the confidence regarding our play-off certainty has come from, nothing is certain

I understand loyalty to an old friend, but as a club man, the club should have come first.

My confidence comes from the fact we've got quite a few points buffer, a very reasonable run in of games, and some players who have moments where they are too good for the bottom half teams in the division. Nothing is certain, but I'd be really surprised if we dropped out the play offs.

The muppets were probably thinking, the same as a lot of supporters were thinking, that BD, very nice bloke as he may be, was not the right man for the job, and was failing on several levels in the job he was hired to do.
All the wailing of some on here, trying to slate the club at every opportunity is gonna change nothing, he's gone, you need to get over it.
Just because they haven't appointed anyone yet, doesn't mean they don't have someone lined up, contracts take time.

Correct., And given Shan is probably capable of taking over 2 games, there's no real rush this week. We ain't dropping out the play off places.

Every game is important, if we lose two this week then we could be on level points with 7th, so the new manager has absolutely no time to settle in. Wins from day one.

Also it's better to finish 4th than 6th
