in his first managerial position to learn the ropes, to learn what works and what doesn't, to make mistakes and find methods of correcting them......followed by an attempt to not repeat them.

This is not the time. Shan has done fantastically to stop the rot and maybe he will become a fantastic manager, but this is not the time for him to learn.

I said at the time sacking Moore was absolutely ridiculous in the circumstances, those circumstances included capabilities of the personnel behind the scenes trying to appoint a new manager; and that at the time if someone didn't hit the ground running we could slide down the table. Luckily Jimmy Shan put us in a position where we probably don't have to worry about the latter.

Anyone coming in now is in a fantastic position to settle in before the playoffs. All is not lost at this point but we're doing our absolute best to screw things up as much as possible. I said sacking Big Dave would reduce our chances of promotion, and so far there's nothing to indicate I was wrong. However a swift good appointment could still save us.

Big Dave massively reduced our chances of promotion as did the board by not sacking him 10 games earlier and not lining up a quality replacement - but that's our board for you! Now I reckon we have far less a chance of promotion than the Vile - especially after today!

Given our chance of promotion with Big Dave was zero, I’m not sure how we’ve made it worse.

Just because we’ve lost 1 game after winning 3 doesn’t mean getting rid of Moore was the wrong move, it wasn’t. The mistake is the ongoing complacency of our board in thinking our squad is either good enough or hungry enough for a return to the top flight regardless of who is in charge.

We have some excellent players capable of playing at a higher level, but we have little or no hunger, desire or passion amongst them, and unfortunately the attitude from the top of our club does little to inspire or enforce a change.

I can’t remember the last time we played well, or looked like we wanted to even win a game.
I agree our board have a lot to answer for - especially the bonkers signings the year before.

I mean the form and performances building up to the Ipswich game really did look like a side that was heading up.....
Anyone who was here today watching this shambles would see how clueless and lacking in tactics and guidance we were.
You though the first half last week was poor but this mess trumped that and fir both halves to boot!
So our penny pinching starts catching up with us and, any more like this against such mediocrity, and our Play Off chances look pretty remote. The worry is the senior players are really running the show which might have shown in our slow lacklustre display all over but especially the centre of the field where we looked as if we were playing in lead boots !
Still a nice 4 hour journey to go now Sad

Yeah those two games before the Ipswich one are a perfect representation of everything that's happened this season, let's just conveniently ignore the games before then.

Of course a team in 4th that have beaten literally every other one of the top 6 with Moore in charge have ZERO chance of promotion with Moore in charge.

Zero......fucking hell......

Words fail me

Basically we should get absolutely anyone in because it can't be less than the "Zero chance" we had under Moore. It's a similar logic to following up Pulis with Pardew. How can you not see this is complete and utter bollocks!?
Thought brunt was the only player trying to make things happen, rest were absolutely rubbish

I agree Sliced.

I don't necessarily believe we would go up under Darren Moore, but I don't think our chances were enhanced by his sacking , And given the timing of the dismissal and where we were in the league at that time, it made no sense.

If a change needed to be made, and i'm far from convinced it did, the time to do it was at the end of the season.
