Just behind where I was sat. Did a coach party not turn up?

I wondered about that, they were just in front of us.

Arf
My dad’s old aunt lived in the street next to the old Elm Park ground and she used to have their young players lodging with her. When I was a kid (around late 70’s) my dad wanted to visit her one Saturday for some reason and me and my brother noticed that Reading needed to win their match that day to get promoted from the old 4th Division. So we nipped off to watch the Reading match (I consider myself a trailblazer for plastic fans) while my dad visited his aunt. Reading won 1-0 with a goal from the delightfully named Wayne Wanklyn and my abiding memory is the childish sniggering that came out when I had to say the word “Wanklyn” to this crusty old dear when she asked me who scored !
