He has a release clause of 16.5m

It’s a contractual obligation agreed with him before we allowed him to go to Newcastle on loan. His contract would have otherwise expired next month and he’d have been able to leave for free. Because of that contractual agreement we will get a guaranteed £16.5m did him. Can’t change it. That’s how contracts work.
