Really like both of these lads.

For a teenager playing in defence Ferguson has hardly put a foot wrong in any of the games I have watched this season. His attitude is spot on.

Edwards may not have the technical abilities that some of out other forward players have but he makes up for it in positive attitude and he does make things happen.

Also a word for Johnstone, game would have been out of reach without him today.
Edwards is where Leko should be. He isn't highly skilled or technical, but he terrifies defenders by running at them with pace and power. He also has some end product. If Leko continues to develop as he is at Charlton, we have two excellent prospects for those wide places.

Leko has not been helped by the chaos at the club since he broke through, overall we seem to have some damn good prospects with more to come apparently.

I'd argue Edwards is highly technical though, even if he doesn't make many touches on the ball he can drift past defenders with his movement. Sessegnon was repeatedly done by Edwards just dropping his shoulder.
Edwards still a sub for me. Did far more today than in his last couple starts.

Fast, direct, comfortable with both feet... he’s a defenders nightmare.

I agree.  Edwards does have very good technical ability.

He is!!
OK maybe harsh on Edwards, he is more technical than I have him credit for.
I totally disagree with the assertion Edwards isn’t “highly technical”. I’ve watched him play since he was 17. Many don’t know but he was out for 12-18 months when he suffered a really bad injury. Anyone who has played football knows a major injury between the ages 16-19 can affect your career. He battled back, and Albion to be fair showed extreme faith in him.

I’ve seen him play as a right sided winger, left sided winger, as a striker (part of a 2), and just off a Target man. For me his best position is as a left sided winger. Cutting in and playing through balls/ shooting or going down the by-line. He’s good in that he’s a two footed player. Bilic has shown huge faith in him. He’s the local boy and been given a senior position by Bilic (notice how he wears the armband ahead of others when Livermore is subbed)

As for Ferguson he’s an out and out defender. Ferguson and O’Shea (who IMO will break into the first team this year), will save the club millions.
Not sure i'd describe Edwards as 'highly technical' (Krov is 'highly technical')but he certainly isnt out of place at this level and if he can become a bit more clinical and ruthless he could be almost anything.
Saying a player isn't highly technical isn't an insult by the way. His pace, directness and determination makes up for it completely. His end product will improve since he already has some there to work with.

Definately a future big player for us.
