Just trying to thrash out the fee with Liverpool.

Hell of a coup for them! He was magnificent when they beat us at our place!

Good job we're not wasting out money on players like this and waiting for the quality to become available in August Big Grin
£30m was the quoted price.

Do we have £20-30m to spend on a centre half?
I reckon we might have Kone earmarked as our centre half target.

If we don't want to sign anybody else, yeah.

If we want to being in another 3 or 4 then no.
Not really a surprise. He was the key to their turn around.

I don't necessarily rate De Boer but I reckon Palace could be 'best of the rest' this season. Good squad now.

God I hope not, a basket-case!

That squad should never have gotten itself into trouble last season.

Pardew needs to take the blame for that.
Kone is not proven at prem level.

Pulis will want Smalling, Shawcross or Sakho.  The german and Italian would be last minute panic buys.

Except when he kept Sunderland up.

Kone was outstanding as part of an organised defence and was the main reason Sam got them out of trouble.

His head was too easily turned and he went to pieces in a shambolic Sunderland side under Moyes.

I wouldn't be too unhappy if we brought him in as TP would get the best out of him. Just a shame if we're trying to do it on the cheap when sides like Palace seem to have overtaken us in terms of transfers
