Not usually a good month for us, nor are New Year’s Day games,if memory serves me right. However:

Last season we managed 12 point from 6, then lost to Blackburn on New Years Day. (12 from 7)

So far we have 12 from 7 with Leeds to come, so a win would look altogether decent. (15 from 8).

Our previous Championship in 2009/10 yielded 8 from 5.

We are looking a bit disjointed these last 5 games but I think after this hectic schedule we will start to fire again.

No panic yet! 9 points is still a good cushion to have whilst we are struggling.
The good thing is that after Leeds it’s ten days to the next league game.

If I were Slav I’d be thinking about resting most of the big guns for the Cup and keeping them fresh for the league.
Hope so.We still need to aim for those 85/90 points.

I wouldn't play a single first 11 player in the Cup. Warm training camp in the canaries/malta for a week.  No taxis in Mdina!  Big Grin
Didn't we used to slaughter managers trying to keep us up in the Prem for resting a couple of players in Cup games?

Yes but we had a top eight squad apparently then!  Big Grin
When you are in the Prem there's no excuse. When trying to get there, there is. Sod the Cup.

Well we did finish 8th which kind of proves that we did, over 38 games, have the 8th best squad in the division.

I’m expecting 2 very changed teams on Saturday and if we win great, if not so be it.  It isn’t this season’s aim.  Who have Cardiff got - that’s who we’re pencilled in to play on R4 day.  Was hoping for a weekender ?

Also, straight to pens or a replay?
