Rather biased editing and negative punditry on the Albion. Livermore should have been sent off and shouldn't have been on the pitch to set up the second goal. The foul on Kronovich by Cash was simply a robust challenge and funny, no mention of his bookable second foul on Pereira, whilst the last minute goal should have been denied as Bartley was offside as interfering with the player on line unable to clear the ball. (How could the linesman flag for that?) . The best bit of the match was of course the Cash equaliser.  blah blah blah. We had the highest number of shots on target in the championship today, 9. They showed 1, the first goal. Leeds had 6 shots on target. They must have showed every one of them.
Bizarre editing. Looked like it was close on attempts. There’s a Forest love in happening in the media based on the years of them being in the wilderness, even though they have a thuggish side.
I've said it before and say it again the media for some reason have a real dislike of us going back to the mid to late 70's, that great 78-79side hardly got any positive coverage in the national media and the BBC always seem to be biased against us, we could thump some 8/9 nil and sky would still spin it as if the opposition out played us and we were lucky, top 7 points clear of 3rd is all we need to care about.

Premiership race is done and dusted. They want 7 championship teams to fighting for 2 automatic spots on the final day of the season. Will mean viewing figures will remain high till the end of the season.

I think it's because we were the club that broke down the barriers for black players. There'd been such players before Regis, Batson and Cunningham in the English top division (John Charles, Clyde Best for example) but not 3 in the same team who got most of the attention from week to week. Little Albion did what the "fashionable" top clubs failed to do and perversely it's held against us.

The 5-3 win at OT is poignant. Cunningham and Regis ripped an all white United team apart that day and you can plainly hear the boos and monkey chants from the terraces. It wasn't long before the top teams had black players in their starting line ups week in week out. But we were the first and they don't  like us for it.

Or it could be because we haven't  won a major trophy for 52 years Big Grin

I lived in Manchester and was at Old Trafford that day and I don't remember any monkey chants.  There was a fair bit of booing but it would be a big stretch to say it was colour related.  The fact is it was an endlessly exciting match with the game sweeping from one end to another and most United fans I know who were there still say it's one of the best games they've ever seen at OT.  I went to a lot of games away that year and there were definitely grounds where Regis in particular got stick - not least Maine Road but Old Trafford wasn't one of them.
