What Dier did was stupid but from what I can tell the bloke that abused his brother, and then also Dier when he was climbing the seats, ran away before Dier got to him.

What an absolute shit house. If you are going to do that then at least have the nuts to hang around for a conclusion FFS.

Dier will get banned because it was idiotic but not in the same ball park as Cantona. Cantona's was assault and ABH I believe.

Dier caused no physical harm to anyone but it could have escalated.

He'll get 5 game ban imo and a whopper of a fine.
Two wrongs, although it depends what was said. Eric will pay a hefty price, where the fan won't. I think we need to wait and see what comes of the enquiry tbh. We don't know anything other then what our super media are feeding us atm.

Only because Dyer never got to the fan.  It was a very stupid thing for Dyer to do in that;

a: Opposition fans will wind him up even more from now on
b: The FA will throw the book at him
As the ‘victim’ was sitting near Dyer’s brother, with whom he had an altercation, I assume he was in the Home section.
It was a stupid thing for him to do but he obviously had a rush of blood to the head. Something clearly upset him and who wouldn’t become upset if one of our family members was abused? I think I will wait for the full facts to come out before calling for the death penalty for Dyer.  The F.A. will have to impose some sanctions however.
It’s remarkable how people never seem to have any issue with tens of thousands of people abusing one individual together yet clutch their pearls and wail when a player dares to give anything back.

That's because there is a line that should not be crossed by either party. It's the touchline.

Fans should not cross it - even in celebration. And I'll say the same again when our idiotic morons run on the pitch when we are promoted (touch wood). Why do you want to be on the pitch? What does it achieve? What is your point? What can you achieve on the pitch that you can't do in the stands? If running on the pitch is the question, then bring back fences is the answer. It is a criminal offence to enter the pitch.

Similarly, Players should not encroach our area. We should feel safe in the stands. There are plenty of stewards and Police around to enforce the law. It's one thing the likes of Jonas expressing his displeasure to the crowd from the pitch, it's another wading into the crowd to sort it out yourself.

Someone claiming to have witnessed it all claims Dyer's brother started it all by grabbing a Spurs fan who was yelling abuse at the team.

You want to feel safe? Does a person really have a right to feel safe if they’ve just spent 90 minutes yelling abuse at a footballer?

If this is true, then Dier's brother should be banned for life. I reckon he wont be, though.
Why don’t posters wait till the full facts to come out before making stupid judgemental statements. All I will say if fans were giving you and or your family abuse wouldn’t you want to do something about it, or sit meekly by and let them get away with it. I know what I would do.
Totallyidiotic.
