Anyone else on here got Virgin? Just wondering as sky are giving their subscribers access to sky sports free until this shit is over. Tried calling them to ask why they are still charging for it, but got pissed off being on hold forever.
I'm with Virgin Media Ireland and they have an online form on their website on which you can request a two month payment break from Sky Sports. I'd be surprised if Virgin Media Uk didn't have the same.
Wouldnt hold your breath! Virgin are a nightmare to deal with.

Thanks for the tip, fbaggy. I've managed that (I think!). I also pay extra each month for Racing UK but can't find a way to cancel that online and, as Wednesbury says, trying to phone them is a waste of time.
I've done it but as my account is a bundle with broadband etc I'm expecting the price to increase!

One of the worst if not the worst organisations I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

Another thanks here fbaggy, filled in form so we will see. An honourable company would have automatically frozen the sport subscription. Too much to ask for I guess.
My last call to Virgin Media was about 3 or 4 years ago and went something like this:

Me: Hello, For some reason, we've got no broadband, phone and TV package, I know the direct debit has gone through, so I'm wondering what the problem is.

VM: Give me a few minutes to investigate, please, sir.

Me: OK.

A few minutes on hold. and then:

VM: Hello, sir? Ermm... yes, it looks like you were disconnected in error. I'll get your landline, broadband and TV reconnected, but it's going to incur a £75 reconnection charge.

Me: Hang on a minute. Why am I being charged for something that wasn't my fault. You've just admitted that it was disconnected in error.

VM: Sir, reconnecting you will incur a £75 reconnection fee.

Me: I'll ask again, why am I being charged 75 pounds for something I didn't do and have no control over?

VM: I will reconnect your services and add the £75 reconnection fee to your next bill.

Me: You can stick it up your arse.
I forget the name of the company before they were taken over by Virgin but sounds like customer service hasn't moved on. I watched a whole game that went into extra time and pens whilst being on hold. Daft thing was it was for porn films on our bill which I wouldn't have necessarily questioned living in a shared house of four 20-somethings but we were all on holiday at the time!
