Have they forgotten how to play over the summer?

Looked poor so far.

It's the first game of a new season and most fans are filled with optimism and excitement, but I'm not.

I assume that most of us Baggies are feeling the same, as the positive effects of our takeover won't be seen for a while yet!

Prediction: 16th playing turgid football, but at least we'll have a good foundation when we do start splashing the cash.

We can win, why not...

Also, I think this summer's activity has been OK so far; we've got Phillips in to add to a decent squad. Problem is is that weve upped the bar in terms of targets (in a good sense) so we're now bidding for big money targets (fuck the hyphen, Alan) OR players that clubs aren't too keen on parting with so patience, on very short supply here, should be exercised until the very end. Example: Leicester rate Schlupp sowhy would they let him go to the first bid if at all. Liverpool paid a fortune for Benteke so won't give him away for much less of what they paid for him and then the individual must want to come to us which in itself is another hurdle. We've moved forward which in itself provides obstacles. It's easy to sign another McLean or McManaman but they're not good enough, are they. All the TV money has done is make shit players more expensive and very much line agents pockets. Patience and the we judge.

It's easy to sign shit but we'd all moan about it. For us, signing quality will take us up to the end of the window. Let's all judge after that...

Summer summary:

Euros - worst tournament ever. Awful football.
Brexit - good shake up that we need.
Olympics - awful atmosphere. Highlights the superb job that we did.
Weather - shit here, wasn't it. Plants are showing lack of sunbut bees seem to be doing well.

Who's gewin then?  This is the easiest fixture for me to get to all season - half hour on the train and i'm in sunny Thornton Heath - in the Spoons by 10.30 Big Grin  - a lot of beer is required to numb the pain of a dour Albion performance.  Hopefully they'll surprise us  - either way i'll support them vocally. Make a racket - its the equivalent of making your own entertainment.

half the team aren't good enough to compete at this level - wtf? great confidence booster that just before your first game of the season,  which half of the team is that then Tone?

5 yes 5 players he reckons we need to bring in - surely a left back would be a start...

Hope we hold onto saido, as whatever you think of him personally, he will score goals  - if he's played - and if he's fit -

COYB!
