In 2019/20 - no not WBA's parachute payment but Gareth Bale's annual salary!!

A Real fuck-up!!

Poor lad's only got 3 year's left on his contract - £93,600,000.  How the fuck is he going to make ends meet?

  The Current Squad Thread
Posted by: Sliced - Yesterday, 05:24 PM - Forum: WBAUnofficial - Replies (7)

With so many outgoings (and hopefully incomings) this summer it's hard to keep up with who we actually have left and the areas in which we need to improve. Therefore I thought I'd start this thread to at least keep up to date with where we are as a squad. Obviously there's a debate about what the first team is, but this post is more for the sake of keeping up to date with what we need to do rather than debating who should be playing vs formation etc.

So our squad as it stands:

GK - Johnstone, Bond

RB - Nyom, K Wilson

CB - Hegazi, Bartley, Dawson, Fitzwater

LB - Gibbs, Townsend

CM - Livermore, Brunt, Field, Harper

RM/LM/ARM/ALM - HRK, Phillips, Burke, Edwards, Leko

ACM -

FW - Rodriguez, Rondon

So currently our (debatable) first team (excluding those players leaving) is:

Bench: Bond, Townsend, Bartley, Field, Harper, Burke, HRK

  Getting money out of China...
Posted by: Mulumbu's Tackle - Yesterday, 01:11 PM - Forum: WBAUnofficial - Replies (10)

For those well versed in overseas financial matters...

There seems to be a general understanding (or delusion) amongst some albion outlets that Lai will be able to invest/get significant sums out of China from September onwards. I know currently there seems to be an issue in doing this, but what relevance does this September date have, if any?

I know the line has been 'running on a sustainable model', i.e not living beyond our means but could this be why there doesn't appear to be much concern from the board in regards to our current situation?
