In a little pot, where you get no more than two dips of a girthy sausage.

Should be wound up and liquidated. Unacceptable.

  Double deal with Spurs

According to the Sun we are making an offer of £30m to Spurs today to buy both Wimmer and Jansson

Pretty happy with that if it succeeds

A fixture against a club that we've never played against in a competitive fixture was enough to attract me (and I daresay a fair few of the rest of the 1300 or so Baggies who turned up tonight) to this small northern town settled amongst hills between Blackburn and Burnley. It was worth the trip: Albion fielded a strong team, the weather was fair and the town welcoming. When in the ground, I felt like I'd been transported back about 30 years. Terracing, no roof on the stand and toilets in portacabins was a reminder of just how football has changed since the Taylor report and Sky's millions. I loved it.

The match was a surprisingly entertaining fayre. I can't comment on the first 10 minutes or so since I missed it, by which time we were 1-0 up through a long overdue Rondon goal. Stanley should have equalised midway through the half when we asleep on a corner (imagine that!). A short one played out to their full-back who crossed first time to one of about 3 Stanley players waiting on the edge of 6 yard area - fortunately the header went high and wide. That seemed to fire us up a bit and played some decent stuff in the rest of the half, eventually making our superiority pay when Rondon set Matty Philips surging towards the penalty area and he drove the ball powerfully into the bottom corner. We were playing the ball around with much confidence and must have improved our passing stats significantly, In the second half we continued where we left off with both Philips and the energetic McClean getting into some promising positions  and Rondon enthusiastically getting into good positions in the penalty area. He and Rodriguez spurned several chances until finally the tie was settled when JRod deservedly scored from 10 yards out. Substitutions followed and we lost a bit of momentum and also became a bit complacent which gave Stanley some encouragement  and, disappointingly, they got some reward when we were left a little undermanned at the back and they scored with finish of some aplomb. Fortunately, with less than 10 minutes to go, Albion did what Albion now do and saw the game out and we all went home dreaming of Wembley (possibly).

Ratings
Myhill - 6 made a few saves and handling and kicking were generally sound
Nyom - 6
Dawson - 7 firm, harshly booked
Hegazi - 7 potential MOTM, looks very calm and assured. Looking like a good piece of business
McClean - 8 did what you expect, loads of energy, always willing, a constant menace, just wish his final ball was better
Phillips - 9 splendid display, tricky, industrious and a clinical finish. Class
Barry - 7 no frills, solid performance
Chadli - 6 glad to see him involved and showed some glimpses of what he can do but got caught in possession a bit too often and on at least one occasion made no effort to win the ball back. Holding back to make sure he doesn't get injured perhaps?
Morrison - 7 another welcome sight. Looked a bit rusty at times but did sometimes show the creativity that we so lacked at Burnley
Rodriguez - 8 worked hard and engineered chances for himself and the team. Deserved goal but he should have scored more.
Rondon - 8 ditto JRod only should have scored even more. Seemed very committed.

Subs
Livermore - 6 tidy
Leko - 5 getting a bit worried about Jonathan. Not playing with the joie de vivre we witnessed when he first burst on the scene. Is it being coached out of him or is he stale or is he just not going to be good enough? I desperately hope it's not the latter. Needs loaning out asap IMO.
Harper - 6 enthusiastic but not enough time to get involved. Some promising touches though.

Just a note about Accrington Stanley and the Wham Stadium. It was quite possibly the smallest stadium that I have seen Albion play at and it just illustrated how hard life must be for clubs outside the top 2 divisions. Credit to the club for surviving and credit to Stanley's fans who backed their team very well in the second half. I wish them well.

From tonight's game.

Myhill didn't look too convincing.
Rondon heavily involved and looked a bit sharper, but still terrible with his feet, more clinical footwork and he'd have had 3!
JRod, Chadli and Morrison ran the show by the looks of things!

Anyone got a preference for Round 3?

The Vile or the Dings for me, for a bit of added spice.

Hope we don't get Reading.

After tonight`s win does it look like we look a good prospect for new player`s during the rest of the transfer window . Played 3 won 3, 3rd in prem  next round of cup. Potential target`s could look at us and say this club look`s on the up. I wouldn`t mind being part of that,I suppose by 1st September we will know. I think we will bring in 3 or 4 more player`s i just hope there of the right caliber.
