Isn't it fantastic? The man thought he was better than us, bigger than West Brom. Dreamt of Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd. Potentially ends up at Leicester or West Ham.. Just saying like... Even Big Dave cast him aside when he took over. Bad egg, good riddance..

Only downside is we missed out on a large transfer fee, or did we? I don't believe anyone made a serious transfer bid..

In Big Dave we trust.

I inadvertently found myself at the Hatherton Wolve5 'Going up...Going down' celebration party yesterday afternoon.
I tried to add a copy of the photo I took of the poster to this thread, but it just keeps telling me it's too large

Got to say top food though.

Never have so many fake Lacoste shirts ever congregated in one pub at the same time.

  Most beer you’ve ever drank
Posted by: 110percentBaggie - 05-19-2018, 10:31 PM - Forum: WBAunofficial - Replies (25)

Had this discussion tonight with my brother, a similar drinker to me.
Both of us now middle aged, but still like a decent sup.
Of course it’s hazy, but my views are 6 pints ideal amount so long as no work next day, but admit too many 8-10 pints nights.
Reckon 14-15 probably most I’ve ever done.
Interested to hear of your feats.

Only Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton, Chelsea and Villa have played in more FA Cup Finals than us. Man City have an identical record to us. Played 10. Won 5. Lost 5.

Anybody watching it?

Build-up's very flashy. Very American.

RTE1 and TV3 over here both showing The Royal Wedding  - there is no escape even in Ireland. Some great fascinators, if that's the right word for an unfinished hat. Hudds' is probably there with a brolly.

  First Vardy now Boufal
Posted by: Baggie66 - 05-19-2018, 09:43 AM - Forum: WBAunofficial - Replies (7)

Last week Vardy won goal of the season on MOTD for his effort from the edge of the area at our place.
Good goal and all that but 9 times out of 10 that disappears in the direction of McDonalds akin to a Phillips free kick.

Now Boufal has won Carling goal of the season for the winner at St Mary’s when our entire team seemed to back off.

Typical of last season really.
I get the feeling that if Berahino had got on the pitch against us last season even he would have managed to get a goal.

  Big Dave's message

He's his own man, of that I'm sure, but with the talk of "commitment" and "togetherness" I detected a whiff of Sir Gary Megson in there. A little. I am not surprised the 2000-02 Megson side has engineered several managers as he was looking to get leaders onto the pitch. I'm sure Moore will be the same too. I am glad he has not made any big noises about 'needing to go back up' etc, etc. He's keeping his cards fairly close to his chest in that respect - the same about ingoings/outgoings and the type of football we will see. He simply said he wants his team to "want to win games". Again, like Megson.

I must admit, I like the understatements in the media , because I think there'll be a huge statement behind the scenes.

Although on the pitch it is very different in terms of ability and talent, the situation is not a million miles away from when Megson first came in in March 2000.

  Serie A
Posted by: SausEggBagel - 05-19-2018, 07:58 AM - Forum: WBAunofficial - Replies (17)

Been watching a bit more of it this season (considering our plight), I watch out for how Roma get on (Totti's amazed me since I was a kid) and Udinese a traditional old Italian club and remind me of us mostly, but anyway, it's the final day tomorrow, even though Juve are playing today which is a bit weird (if anyone knows why I'd be interested to know) - so on the final day of the season and mathematically, 1 from 5 can fill the final relegation place, culminating in a squeaky bum time for a few clubs.

Money is heavily on Crotone to get relegated as they have Napoli - but one of the newer bloods of Italian football Chievo or Cagliari could drop.

An exciting end to their season unlike many others over Europe, anyone else into or interested in this weekend's Serie A?
