For the first time in a long time we have a coach that almost to a man the fans seem to be happy about. That in itself gives Corbo a head start which is a nice change.
Looking at the immediate future he has 4 games now until the WC to have a look at what he has, absolutely no pressure on these games at all. He then has 4 and a half weeks to put the players he sees as fit and suitable through their paces and whip them into some sort of shape. I would then expect to start seeing some pattern, identity and progression in the 5 games after leading up to January and would expect to see some shoots of recovery. These 5 games also gives him time to firmly work out what is required in terms of additions during the window.
Season Prognoses:
Optimistic:
9 Games (upto Jan) - if we can get a return of 14 points which is 4 wins and 2 draws this would have us sat with 29 points going into Jan. We have a loss percentage of 37%, so this is basing on us improving that slightly, but winning more than we draw.
21 games (starting 1st of Jan) - Return 42pts (2ppg), 14 wins from 21, this is automatic promotion form, which right now look very unlikely.
Total - 71pts - Has been enough to get top 6, 1 out of the last 5 years
Realistic:
9 Games (upto Jan) - Return of 10 pts; 2 wins, 4 draws, 3 losses.
21 games (starting 1st of Jan) - Return of 34; 10 wins, 4 draws, 6 losses. This would be the going rate for the top six so far this season.
Total - 59pts - This would likely have us half way on average.
Either way I feel we have left it far too late to get rid of Bruce given the hideous form and downwards trajectory by almost every measure. But here's to a, hopefully, much brighter future.

Can’t think of one.
Mel as a manager and just Ibanez and Valero as players, off the top of my head.
Travesty we couldn’t get the best from Valero as he clearly was a class act as his career afterwards ably demonstrated.
Any others?
