  Carlton Cole
Posted by: Duffmon - 08-01-2017, 10:12 AM - Forum: WBAunofficial - Replies (16)

Will be available shortly, go gerrim Tone:

'CARLTON COLE TO BE SACKED'
Former West Ham and Chelsea striker Carlton Cole is to be sacked by Indonesia's Persib after failing to find the net since his arrival in March, the team's manager said Tuesday.
Cole has played "very badly" and will be replaced for the second stage of the season, which starts on Saturday, Persib manager Umuh Muchtar told AFP.
"It's the management's decision to dismiss him, we will have a new player in the second round of the season," Muchtar said. "He plays very badly compared to the other (foreign players) who have joined Persib. He had the worst performance," Muchtar added.
Cole joined Persib two weeks after his former Chelsea team-mate Michael Essien in what was a buying spree for the Bandung-based club. Cole signed a one-year contract for an undisclosed sum with Persib, owned by Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir -- who is also president of Italian giants Inter Milan

  Dead Hollywood rejects
Posted by: spandaubaggie - 08-01-2017, 09:57 AM - Forum: WBAunofficial - Replies (11)

Having signed so few in the window so far, I found myself having a dream last night that Pulis signed Hollywood actor Lee Marvin as a centre forward. I remember thinking how puzzling this was. Granted he was good in westerns, and I do like his song I Was Born under a Wandering Star, but to sign him in this window when he has been dead for 30 years and has no pedigree in the Prem is just plain wrong.  .

Picking up crumbs from the golden age of Hollywood long past their sell by date isn't quite what many of us were looking forward to....

  Pulis and his frustrations
Posted by: Pragmatist - 07-31-2017, 09:29 PM - Forum: WBAunofficial - Replies (71)

I can't reveal my source but I was told today that Pulis is massively unsettled. Is really disappointed to have lost Kemp, his trusted lieutenant for many years,  really hacked off at the transfer budget, at loggerheads with Hammond over potential signings, and utterly cheesed off with the realisation that so few targets don't want to come and play under him.

He wants out but is so financially stretched after the Palace case that he simply can't afford to resign and will be here until he is sacked as he needs the pay-off.

What a bl**dy mess

  Watford rejects

Having signed Nyom from Watford last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see us sign Deeney and Capoue in this window.  Capoue seems to have fallen out with Silva and Watford have apparently just signed Richarlison from Brazil for £13m, which surely means Deeney is more likely to be sold.

Picking up crumbs from the Watford table isn't quite what many of us were looking forward to....

What a way to finish a Test match!  Excellent record for a lad regarded  as a backup spinner.

Great result for England against a good SA side. Set up brilliantly for OT on Friday
