You wouldn't get this sort of dedication to H&S if we were out of Europe.

Another thread that needs resurrecting.

Looks like they're going down the same route as last year and announcing the areas individually. First up: The Dance Village.

The older I get the fewer names I know on here.

Not challenging his failed drugs tests.

That's him gone for a season then.

Cor remember how long Ferdinand got.

They banned Mutu for 9 months in 2010.

The modern football experience v the old one

All the talk about Hillsborough has made me recall my young football fan days and far from seeing it with nostalgia, made me realise how grim things were.
I was at Hillsborough at the 87 semi with my mate, a Leeds fan, in Leppings Lane. Both of us are fairly big blokes and were 21 then but that day we feared for our lives. The crush in that end has often made me recall how lucky we were it didn't happen then.
It's made me think what I liked and didn't like about then.
I liked the turning up at the Hawthorns on a whim knowing you could get in as all ticket games were so rare in the 70s and 80s and also the fact it was so affordable, but not much else.
Obviously, this isn't about the football or I'd have the 1978/79 side there.
However, there was more yobs then and the atmosphere more charged. It meant's walking along Halfords Lane being shouted at by some arsehole on a horse, who had a uniform on and thought he could treat you like a criminal. Even as a young kid I could never understand why we were treated so badly.
Now, we've safer cleaner stadia, but the spontaneity of turning up on a whim has gone. I also miss terracing too- it could be back with the will of the nation, but don't think they'd ever let it happen.
I guess this just shows they were the bad old days in so many ways.
