Strongest XI - ericlegrisly - 09-29-2020

Given the assembled personnel and the possibility of no further signings, what's our best starting 11 now?

3-5-1-1?

                              SJ

             Semi       Ivanovic      Hegazi

  Furlong? Livermore Gallagher Krov  Dinger

                           Pez

                       Robinson

Room for Gibbs? Sawyers? Field? Bartley?

Are we good enough?

RE: Strongest XI - boingingbaggie - 09-29-2020

I don't like Diangana at left wing back. Totally lose him as an attacking option and he isn't good enough at defending

I still think with the players we have now a back 4 is more suited but obviously Slav doesn't agree

SJ

O Shea
Ajayi
Ivanovic
Gibbs

Livermore
Krov
Gallagher

Pereira
Diangana

Robinson

RE: Strongest XI - Lurker#3 - 09-29-2020

We now have the option to switch between 5 and 4 at the back.

It will be a horses for courses approach.

343:

Johnstone
Ajayi Ivanovic OShea
Furlong Livermore Gallagher Gibbs
Pereira Robinson Diang

433:

Johnstone
O'Shea Ajayi Ivanovic Gibbs
Livermore Sawyers Gallagher
Periera Robinson Diang

RE: Strongest XI - B36baggie - 09-29-2020

Johnstone

O’Shea (preferably a new RB)
Ajayi
Ivanovic
Gibbs

Sawyers
Livermore
Gallagher

Pereira
Grady
Robinson

Button. Furlong. Hegazi. Field. Krov. Edwards. HRK

That leaves

Bond
Peltier
Townsend
Kipre
Bartley
Harper
Phillips
Grosicki
Austin
Zohore

I think five of those not in my Eighteen could go before deadline day,

+1 would be my team too, think be that starting11 would be quite competitive and more than hold its own in this league

+1

For matches against better teams put in Field instead of Krov/Gallagher

RE: Strongest XI - Super_Slav - 09-29-2020

The level of disrespect for Sawyers on this board is ridiculous. I’m pretty confident if fit and available he’ll start the majority of games.

He’s Bilić No.6 and I expect to see him have greater involvement with the ball especially on Sunday as Southampton play a 4-4-2.

RE: Strongest XI - Dumbo - 09-29-2020

...........Johnstone...........
....Ajai Ivanovic O’Shea....
Furlong...................Gibbs
.....Sawyers..Livermore.....
Diangana..Robinson..Periera

Or

Johnstone
O’Shea, Ajai, Ivanovic, Gibbs
Krov or Gallagher, Sawyers, Livermore
Diangana, Robinson, Periera

RE: Strongest XI - Super_Slav - 09-29-2020

FWIW I think Bilić will alternate between 3-4-3/5-4-1, 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1

RE: Strongest XI - BasingBaggie - 09-29-2020

Maybe I watch a different game to others but in that defensive 3 there is no way I would have O’Shea ahead of Bartley. As a right back he is way ahead of Furlong but depends on the system. Completely agree on Diangana not being defensively minded, hence why Pereira was switched to left wing in the first
