Morgan Rogers - Cuzer - 07-06-2021

Linked to Palace for £7m with a sell on clause, we should be all over this getting him back to the club

Cuzer

RE: Morgan Rogers - Super_Slav - 07-06-2021

Would he come back to us over Palace?

RE: Morgan Rogers - MassDebater - 07-06-2021

Did we have a sell on clause in the original deal?

RE: Morgan Rogers - Cuzer - 07-06-2021

I've no idea if he would come back, he never really wanted to leave and he's more chance of playing here so I'd like to think we would have a chance, big Albion fan as well

No idea on the sell on clause, you would like to think so

Cuzer

Firstly I'd want that money paid straight to us and for it not to come from Palace. They still haven't paid us for Furguson which is becoming a bit of a fucking joke.

They bid us £12m then instead they pick him up on a free in the summer and he doesn't play for a whole season. We should have our money by now. Since when has a tribunal fee been linked to an injury ffs?

I would doubt our budget extends to paying £7M for what is effectively a development player.

RE: Morgan Rogers - Fulham Fallout - 07-06-2021

There is a sell on clause in our favour.

I think the sell on clause is only linked to the profit. They bought him for £4m so if they sell for £7m we are probably looking at 20% of £3m.

So £600k for Lai to slip into his bamboo socks....

Good point. I guess it would depend if we saw him as a squad member, that would change things. All hypothetical, unfortunately.

RE: Morgan Rogers - SW4Baggie - 07-06-2021

Let’s be honest, Rodgers hardly tore up trees at Lincoln last season, and if City are willing to sell him at a loss after 1 season that suggests they’re pretty convinced with regards to his ability… they hardly need the money and with German clubs queuing up to give decent English prospects game time in the Bundesliga there’s no real loss for City in loaning him out again for a year.

It’s a romantic notion that a youngster could come back and lead our attack for the next decade, but if we pay £7m on a player he needs to effectively be our star man - much like Pereira was - not someone who was alright in League One and may we’ll improve over time.
