There’d still be money in the pot should Gayle become available too....

We do need another striker, regardless of those 3.

Couldn't see us signing Gayle as well.
We paid decent money for Zohore, if we signed those 2 as well I just don't see where he'd fit in.
Austin is the main signing if it happens.

Agree.

Would leave us;

Austin, Zohore, Burke & HRK as striking options.

Club can’t afford both Austin and Gayle. No chance

Blimey Austin and Gayle would be ridiculous. Can't see us having the money for both given Dowlings comments on not being able to afford him.

Unless we get him on loan with a view to perm of promoted but I'd imagine Toon want a perm deal.

Depends on how we want to play, if it’s just one up front that’ll be enough. There’ll be a greater focus on Diagnana, Phillips, Pereira, Krov, Edwards, etc to contribute.

We've made a £30m profit on sales in the last 12months, and reports have already stated there's money in the budget from last season remaining.

We've also reduced our wage bill significantly last season with so many players leaving/vs arrivals and wage differences.

Austin is likely to be a minimal fee, with Saints contributing to his wages, and neither Diangana or Periera will be commanding big wages due to where they're coming from... and the fees will barely be a million pounds combined.

We've also been willing to drop £8m for Ajeti, £15m for Maupay, so there is no shortage of funds... If Gayle is available on loan, lets get him in and worry about how we get everyone on the pitch tomorrow.

+1 (Although it seems to vary between a loan and a permanent signing for Austin... If it's permanent then I cannot see Gayle coming... if it's a loan then I can)

Must admit, I expected at least one incoming announcement by this time....

YAWN!
