Honestly, don't get how people get so worked up by it.

I don't get worked up by something just by making a comment on it. It was all over the BBC earlier, there was no easy way to escape it!

The defeat is currently the lead story on the BBC football website and the third story on the Olympic page, so not avoiding bad news.

The football was given prominence on the been at that moment because that slot in the olympic day seems to be the quietest and it was the most prominent sport involving British competitors at that time.

I think you can rest easy that if there was a British athlete about to win a medal in another sport, however niche, they would have switched to it and put the football on the red button.
