We've not exactly got a massive amount of talent available. There is an over reliance on Ali who just isn't really all that good for example. Southgate has do very well as England manager to get some pride back into playing for England.

Won a penalty shoot out again.
Pickford enjoyed himself.

To be fair, the Swiss are a much improved team, they certainly ain't no mugs and England deserved the win on the balance of play and chances created.

Didn't bother with the game earlier, but have tuned in to watch the lionesses.

Come gals, stick it right up 'em!

Figuratively speaking of course.

Not giving much of a shit in a Micky Mouse tournament doesn’t make us average.

Never got why people are always so eager to bash the national team. We’re a completely different beast to the disaster of Euro 2016. We’ve got a young side with two genuinely World Class players (Kane and Sterling) and a few more youngsters who could go onto achieve that (Sancho and TAA spring to mind). We are still very much a work in progress and we have a manager who has actually given us a likeable side that (usually) plays half decent stuff.

Average at the World Cup? There are 28 other teams who wish they were as average as us. Even on Thursday night we were with millimetres of winning despite never playing well. But apparently because we didn’t bring our A game to a third place playoff match in a Micky Mouse tournament at the end of a long season people are decrying us as “bang average”.

Go figure.

Spot on.

We weren’t “totally outplayed” by the Dutch either.

It's fashionable to bash the national team it seems.

I don't get it, we are a very young side with a very likeable coach who is trying to get the best out of everyone he has available when he selects from a league known for not releasing players to international duty if they can avoid it. As said we have two top class players, a few who could get there, the rest are just a bit below to quite average as far as top European football goes.

I hope Southgate is given all the time he needs to develop this team, and I am very hopeful of Euro 2020.
