Criminal my arse, you do realise that you need more than one party to agree, to get a new conrtact signed, don't you, if the players won't sign, no one can force them to. 
They may have been advised by their agents to run their contracts down, I'm guessing no one on here, or twitter knows for a fact whether any contract talks have taken place or not.
