if and a huge if they do finish this season then surely all the players have to be given enough time to be ready physically.

logistically and ethically i really cant see how they will end this season.

even if they do and its BCD then it wont be much of a spectacle anyway.

Was talking to a mate over the weekend and just spitballing I came up with the following solution:

- Write the 20/21 season off;
- Accept that football will not be played in 2020 at all;
- Clubs reduce operations to basic minimum to keep financially afloat - PL/FA step in to provide assistance where necessary to ensure that non-playing staff (eg ground staff, ticket office, etc) continue to be paid;
- Playing staff furloughed until end of year;
- Suspend transferring/registration of players until summer 2021;
- January and February 2021 - “pre season” for fitness training and friendlies to get fitness up;
- March to May 2021 - complete the season from where we left off;
- Summer 2021 - Euros

I actually suggested suspend season 2019/20 until Feb or March 21 and then complete it a couple of weeks ago on another post on here. I didn’t go into other financial details though. Sounds good to me!
I don't quite see how playing staff could be furloughed, would cause all manner of problems. Plus, the contracts ending in June is still the sticking point.

I’d get around the contract thing by stopping clubs from registering players until 2021, so players could leave but they couldn’t sign for anyone.

Contracts actually end on last day of July. It's just common practice to end them early (in June) when players move on to pass that months wages onto the new club the player is leaving for.

I'm cool with that so long as the drinks break is rested (except in hot conditions).

Another advantage for the big clubs.
