Given that epidemiologists don't agree with each other about this anyway I doubt the government will (or should) take the fall.
I'd much prefer we'd reacted like Sweden, where we'd all be responsible individually rather then being infantilised when in actuality very few of us are actually at risk.

I know a Dr in Sweden.
They are begging that no other country follows their example. Their health service is in chaos, Dr's are quitting on the spot and nurses are having mental breakdowns at work. Anyone at risk is basically left to die, and the government are so hell bent on being right, they'll make sure deaths are labelled anything but Covid...
Honestly, do not follow that example.
And that's with Sweden's welfare system that provides an incentive to stay home when sick. We'd be completely fucked, we haven't even upped statutory sick pay.
Indeed. We want people to isolate if positive, but most can't afford to. I'm lucky I could work from home, and have been a lot. Most people I work with couldn't.
