I understand the point about some protection v no protection but I guess that depends when you think lockdown may be eased. For those in the top 4 vulnerable groups they won't all have had two jabs until mid May. Considering that Hancock stated 88% of deaths will be from the top 4 vulnerable groups then getting those people fully protected asap would seem a wise move. Could we have achieved that quicker if we went with the 3 week strategy instead of rolling it out to groups lower down the scale?
I am not an expert so the policy may be a masterstroke but it is interesting that we seem to be going our own way with this policy as yet. They have consistently said they are following the science - well that is not the case with this plan is it? Unless I am mistaken there is no data to support a 12 week spacing policy so there surely is some element of risk in taking this approach.
