EFL sides are no barometer success but they'll be fine this season.

Agree. I'm far from convinced with them full stop. I don't count carabao Cup games as an indicator to their Prem form. 

They have had a jammy extended pre season to work on things and they had a jammy first game against Sheff Utd where they looked shite against 10 men, Sheff Utd missed a peno and they scraped it.

Next up they have Fulham ffs. 

I still think they will be 15th or under and Smith will be gone by the end of the season. That's my prediction.
