That was men against boys.
They never broke a sweat and never had to.
That was against a solid team but nothing more than a mid table (probably 11-14 th).
Miracles are needed and they won't be coming in the transfer window to sort that out.
We need to firm up in nearly every position.
If people take any positives from that they need to stay off the drugs.

I though we started the second half well, the subs did the opposite of building on the performance and seemed to kill off any green shoots.

He's been everywhere winning the ball

Jakes mobility seems to fluctuate. He's too slow and not mobile enough at present imo. He's better when lighter.

It's not just mobility per se, it's his lack of balance for a midfield player. His second touch is usually a lunge.

We need more strikers

We look like the side that couldn't beat QPR at the end of last season.

We're miles away from being competitive all over the pitch.

Who'd have thought it though, Nick? Given we haven't actually added any starters to our team since then....

It was always going to be a difficult season, but today's game definitely proved that. Very simple game for Southampton, who won at a canter.

When we play somewhere near the best of our ability, we'll be competitive in this division. Today we weren't anywhere near it, and never looked like getting anything. After the lockdown we were getting away with abject performances, and getting a point, but this isn't going to happen in the Prem.

I'd rest Sawyers for a couple of games, because he's offering nothing at the moment.

Hopefully we've got a few signings that we'll strengthen us, because we definitely need it.

Only SJ a positive.
The rest abject bland nothingness.

Just no excuse for a performance like that utter abject no desire no effort no creativity I would get the useless bastards in tomorrow and make them train .wankers from top to bottom apart from SJ.

Southampton are decent and will deffo finish 8th - 12th. That said, very disappointed with result. Puzzled by team selection and by subs. Much to think about.

BTW, why didn't we get a pelanty when Bertand hand balled it? From the brief clip they showed , it deffo looked like it hit his hand.
