Flip flopping between a pragmatic manager and the likes of Mowbray and Bilic it seems for nearly twenty years. As a self sufficient club we will never be able to go toe to toe with the minted clubs so this should always be factored into the appointment of a manager be it fighting to get out the Championship or staying in the Prem.

Which is why Roy fitted like a glove and in some respects so did Clarke.

Also why we were linked with Hughton on two occasions.

Good luck placating and explaining that to the purists amongst our fan base. They’ve never go their heads around where, who and what we are in this era of football.

WBA needs a functional manager/coach that provides a firm foundation to go to big clubs and be hard to beat.  Lose most, draw a couple and pick up the odd win... BUT make home a place that’s capable of picking up 25-30 points a season.  Do that you survive.

Take on the big boys with expansive football pleasing on the eye you get battered home and away.

So it's either play shite football in the PL or not at all? How does that explain the many years Bournemouth survived in the Premier League? Or what Leeds are doing this season?

£350 mill - oil rich giants paying £100k a week

Beilsa - world class
