My choices:

Johnson

Balis
Clement
Moore
Sigurdsson

McInnes

Koumas
Diangana
Gallagher

Jason Roberts
Super Bob

So that's 3 of this season's lot that make it, in my opinion.

Pereira for Diang and maybe Grant for Bob in 2002/3 when he was well past his best.  If Grant was playing with Roberts that would be quite a lethal duo.

2003 spine = Hoult, Moore, McCinnes, Roberts. PL quality can be questioned but each one a leader. Clem is in for physicality and free kicks. Balis is in as penalty specialist ? Koumas, for all his underachievment, still picks ahead of Perreira as playmaker.....could we get them both in one team? Playing either wide negated their impact. Feel almost embarrassed to consider that Danny Dichio might even get a game under Sam ? I would also be looking at Siggy and Gilchrest ahead of the likes of Bartley, Ivanovic etc to take the bench places.

Current bunch. I'd probably go for Semi alongside Big Dave but he's not a shoe in. Gallagher without a doubt would be great alongside the captain. Could Grady regain confidence surrounded by bigger characters? For all the stick he seems to be getting I would like to see Grant play in the position he had success in starting wide coming in. Gibbs would challenge Clem if he actually got game time but after that I'm struggling. Robinson and O'shea maybe? SJ of course but I choose Hoult as more of a commanding presence.

What stands out is how little, apart from the solidity and leadership qualities in SGM's team, there is between the squads. That's where we are again.
