If they cant get work permits then they cant be all that good. Probably the same calibre as that Chinese lad who didn't qualify.

Pereira wouldn't have been eligible for a work permit, Yacob wouldn't have been eligible for a work permit, Mulumbu wouldn't have been eligible for a work permit.

Kante and Mahrez helped win Leicester the league and they wouldn't have been eligible for a work permit.

More opportunities then for English kids over time.

Yes, more opportunities for them to be hoovered up by the big clubs as their prices increase due to a smaller market of players coupled with an unfair academy structure, enabling the clubs to operate loan farms.

This won't help English kids and it certainly won't help us as a club.

If they are good enough they will break through. Have we really entered the realm of English players for English clubs... that aren’t really English clubs now?

Not sure about that.  They could be one of the very best in the world but if their country isn’t ranked in one of the world’s top 50, or their club hasn’t played in the main phase of the Champions League (or equivalent) then they may well not score enough points under the new work permit system.

He strikes me as the kind of person who campaigned for it then complains it’s not all roses.

In the aftermath of another grim defeat - that really made me loff
