Football isn't all logic! The fact he was a former captain and pivotal to our change in fortunes does count, even if it shouldnt.  It's why Arteta is at the Arse and why Lampard got the Chelsea gig.  The difference being that unlike those clubs we don't have the money or draw to choose a top class international manager instead\when it goes tits.
