As mentioned above, I'd prefer him to stay but if the offer was too good to turn down and/or he wants to leave, let him go. He's a great asset for the championship but not irreplaceable.
I would also say the gamble his higher if he goes than forgoing the said 3m. There's no guarantee his replacement would be as good. Even he took until his second season to get going (though that was more to do with the Graeme Jones fannying around the area system). Better the devil you know.
