He was the Bishop of Barchester in the excellent serialisation of Trollope's Barchester Chronicles back in the 80s. With Geraldine McEwan as his wife and Alan Rickman as the odious Obadiah Slope. And his son is Joe Swift, the Gardeners' World bloke.

Do I win some kind of Radio 4 Listener's Award? Does it depend on whether I put the apostrophe in the right place?
