RIP Tom, I liked him.
I thought this thread might've been about Tom Dross for a minute or two, then we'd never have found out where the money had gone.

He once asked a guy what he did for a living and the guy said he was in oil. Quick as a flash Tom O’Connor said “are you a sardine?”

Met him at a service station on the way to Chelsea one New Year's Eve and my mate genuinely, and excitedly, thought he was Des O'Connor. Tom went on to deliver about 50, scattergun "Des" jokes in about 5 minutes, he was sharp as a razor.
We were going to Trafalgar Square for New Year and for a split second, I swear he thought about dropping on it. Absolute legend. |
