True but, now more than ever, we need the new Dorrans, Mulumbu and Olsson or later Yacob and GMac.

This is where we have fell down the last few years. We appeared to have a good scouting system in place not so long back. Then Ashworth left and the whole lot disintegrated culminating in the Pulis era.
Without a rich benefactor we need that system back in place to try and unearth a few gems.

Slav speaking fluent different languages will have knowledge on players throughout Europe, hopefully he will identify some bargains we would normally have missed / overlooked. From that he brings a lot more to the table then any traditional Engilish manager.
We have to see what he can do for us. He would probably attract some high caliber loans as well. Time will tell.

Regardless of linguistic ability our efforts to sign players should not be based on one man’s knowledge of players. Clubs in this country have large recruitment and scouting systems to try to identify unearthed gems rather than relying on their coach’s little black book.
