We've been down this road before...
At the time of the referendum the Tories had an outright majority (from the 2015 election) and a fixed parliamentary term through to May 2020; at that point all they needed to do was to get all of their own MPs to support a deal and Brexit was done; no need even to bribe the DUP, just manage their own benches. Which is where we complete the circle - the inability to manage their own benches was what precipitated the referendum in the first place.
This whole mess is a Tory construct from start to finish; whatever (and whenever) 'finish' actually involves. The one possible saving grace from a Tory majority in the forthcoming election will be that the Tories will own the consequences of Brexit outright; nobody to share it with, and no possibility of playing their favourite card - the one that blames the situation 'inherited from the previous government'.
