It needs more staff pouring drinks, and stop serving "manual" drinks such as Bathams and Peaky Blinders, which take time to decant.

That's where the delay is.

Due to the exorbitant pricing I rarely buy 'refreshments' at the ground these days. Are card payments reducing queue timings or leading to more people joining the queues?

Me too. Load up beforehand in the excellent value hostelries down the town. You'll get halfway to twisted and well fed for the price of a pie and a couple of slender bottles in the ground.
