Sounds like the club weren't going to make enough (what is £1.8m to any top level club?) and are using the political climate as a get out clause.

The quote about China assembling a "complete surveillance state", by a Solicitor no less, is a much heard criticism. Also the part about muslim woman being forced to marry Chinese men is familiar. This was also common in Tibet where China swamped the local populace with many thousand imported Chinese people in an attempt to dilute the Tibetan bloodline. China takes absolutely no notice of human rights and anything that draws attention to this can only be good.

The Chinese state are currently treating the Uighurs about the same as the Nazis treated the Jews in 1938. The world needs to take a stance but nobody is doing anything.

...and nobody ever does when China is involved.

It’s a strange that whilst the economy has become more capitalist and outward looking, freedom and human rights seem to have taken a backwards step in recent times.
It’s all very well for people here to sneer about democracy giving us what they think are crap decisions, maybe they ought to look at China and consider the alternative

It's because we live in a democracy that we get to sneer about what we think are crap decisions. In fact, we should. Look at China and consider the alternative

Damn straight.

The rest of the World does and says nothing about China because we'd all be royally screwed if we did. China basically own the World right now, the rest of us just pretend that they don't.

They literally own half of Africa.
