Not sure Clarke ever recovered after that. Seemed to be the beginning of his downfall. Sess and Long scored for Albion as I recall (although I could be wrong).

You're quite right mate. Didn't think I'd be so pissed off after a draw at Stamford Bridge, but the injustice still rankles.

There is another reason for Marriner being barred from any future Baggies game or indeed earning another brass farthing as a top flight official. 

In 2014, he sent off Kieran Gibbs instead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in a case of mistaken identity - for a deliberate handball offence - in Arsenal's 6-0 defeat at Chelsea.

Marriner is a thoroughly incompetent buffoon.
