He wasn't a shit manager and I shall remember his time with us with affection. Pulis was manager entirely in the prem and I won't remember his time so well.
And I don't remember the top managers criticising their players in public. Doesn't bode well.

This. totally this.

It feels like the only way some can feel 'good' about having BFS here is to re-write history and make out that Slav had no clue etc... Or in some cases they must have some weird long standing I told you so feelings.

Some of us will, however, remember him not just for the football and the promotion, but also for how he made us all feel like we mattered and were part of the club again. Continuing the work that Big Dave had started, rather than coming in and spouting shyte and bigging up the opposition.

Managers come and go on average every 2.5 years in the Prem and probably quicker in the Championship. Forming any sentimental attachment to them as an adult seems a bit daft. I make exceptions for Megson as he was a genuine miracle worker.

Yep. SGM is welcome to come round, drink my beer and shag my missus anytime he likes. I'll even give him a lift home.

All the crying in the world wont change the fact that Allardyce is in charge now.

Does my head in. I could understand if it came out of nowhere but we were crap back end of last season and crap this season. One win in how many league games was it 17? Bloody awful regardless of resources.

Nice bloke and all that but being nice doesn't get the job done.

As the phrase goes, this, totally this.

Not our first choice. Not the Guardiola, Ralf Rangnick or Pepe Mel some yearn for.

But a change needed to be made or we were heading back for yet another season in the chump with no Bilic if we didn’t act. We acted and got in a survival specialist who at one time was deemed good enough to manage his country.

What was said about Livermore needed to be said. The fucking useless cunt rewarded faith in him by going after Grealish until the inevitable happened, thus getting a Christmas off. I didn’t think players did that anymore. It’s done us a favour if better comes in, because while the club photographer loves him no one else fucking does. He’s slower than streaming Albion vs Wednesday via a Netscape dial-up, and makes Ziz look like he’d win University Challenge. He’s bloody hopeless and our one, jammy, undeserved win of a sorry season came without the lethargic twunt.

Give the dinosaur a chance to shape his own side before judging him on what’s still someone else’s, and that responded very poorly. These poor little lambs need a fucking rocket up their arse after a few showings they’ve put in for us this year. West Bilic Albion fans are all aware they all get paid very well for this, right?

To both of these posts.

Agree. The defence look so bad due to the lack of protection from Midfield.

It’s a shame that Field has suffered with injuries as we could have played him a the holding midfielder.

Harper has disappeared up his own contract leaving us with nothing bar Gallagher.

I’d hoped that Krov may do better in the Prem but he’s too lightweight.

Our recruitment in centre midfield and up front has been absolutely woeful. I watched Grant closely against Villa and his first touch took the ball at least 5-10 yards away from him.

Fat Sam has a massive job especially if he can’t win over the players.

In my view we need 5+ players and we’re just not going to do that unless we ship some out.

As for the Captaincy it depends who he brings in. If not give it to O’Shea and let’s build a team around him, Semi Field, Pereira.

We have different positions on what's happened. It's been done to death. I liked Bilic. I accept the results were poor though. Noone was surprised he got sacked.
However I see no pattern or future in the change of manager, no long term thinking or planning.
Yes, sentiment does come into how we think. Remember the big uplift when BD replaced Pardew?
You can argue that BD took us down if you want, but it's about more than results for me.
Sentiment is exactly why I'm here. If I was being rational I'd support Liverpool.

Once more I totally agree with you.

I'm past caring about just the results, they're secondary for me these days.

It's not even so much that we've got lardarse in, it's the manner it was done. They obviously interviewed him (and others?) whilst Slav was still in charge. And personally, I don't like that kind of thing.

yes, results had been hard to swallow, but I do genuinely believe things were turning around (cue someone yammering on about Palace), but it's done. And as I've said elsewhere I just simply won't bother watching us until lardy is gone. I do have concerns that we have no long term plans in place, no stability and no go to manager for the Championship next season, because I really don't buy this Sam will save us shit.

Livermore is interesting, when I was slating him after Lockdown 1 I was told to give my head a wobble amongst other things. Now it seems that everyone else has cottoned on and now he's amongst the spacegoats. Funny old game.

So many reactionary opinions on here it’s unbelievable. Both Livermore and Sawyers were fantastic against Man City yet less then a week later some guy is calling for Sawyers never to play for us again and now Livermore is being slated despite being one of our best performers last season and going up against much higher quality this season.

Livermore, was not one of our best performers last season. It just so happens that a lot of our fans are sucked in my running around a lot, giving the ball away and conceding cheap free kicks trying to atone for errors.
