They are paid an extra month's salary as severance at the end of a contract, so no real saving.

The thing with Harper as it currently stands he's barely good enough to play in the Championship, if he attempts to go any higher he will just sit and rot in the U23's or warm the bench

Still has so much to learn before he can play centre midfield at a decent level

I want to keep him as our squad is depleted and he's come through the ranks but no great loss if he goes, except we'll get next to nothing in compensation
